Privacy Policy

DecorChic Living (DecorChic Window Coverings) is a small window covering business in Belleville, Ontario. This page explains in plain language what we do with the information you give us through this website. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you use the contact form we collect the details you type in: your name, email address, phone number (optional), town, what you are looking for, and your message. To help us block spam, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address and your browser type. We cannot read your actual address from the scrambled version.

Why we collect it

We use your details to reply to you and to book consultations. We do not use them for anything else.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are stored in Cloudflare D1, a database that runs in Canada and the United States. We are also notified by email: the form uses Web3Forms to send us a message when you submit it, so your details pass through that service on the way to our inbox.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, and only so the site and form work.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) in your browser and sends usage data, such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your device and browser type, to Google. We have turned on IP anonymisation, so your full internet address is not kept. We do not use advertising trackers. To opt out, install Google's browser add-on or block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions for 24 months, then delete them. If you become a customer, we keep the records we need for your order and warranty as long as required.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email us at hello@decorchic.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
